The Birth of Wild Walk Mentoring

Discover the story, experience, and values behind Pippa Ferguson's journey. The inspiration that created Wild Walk Mentoring.
With over 30 years of experience in education and training, 20 years of which were at senior and executive levels, Pippa Ferguson has honed her ability to support and lead others through complex challenges. As a successful consultant she developed key skills, including building trust quickly, connecting with people effortlessly, and approaching situations with empathy and approachability. These qualities are at the heart of Wild Walk Mentoring.

Central to the programme is Pippa’s love of the natural environment and the transformative power it holds. She has experienced firsthand how stepping outside can provide much-needed mental clarity, especially when her head was spinning with professional demands or when she was trying to work out the right thing to do, personally. Walking outdoors has consistently helped her reconnect, gain perspective, and navigate the next steps, whether in her personal or professional life.

20 years spent at senior and executive levels, Wild Walk Mentoring exists to share these benefits with others. By combining personalised mentoring with the rejuvenating experience of walking in nature, the programme offers a unique space for reflection, growth, and progress. Wild Walk Mentoring helps individuals regain clarity, build confidence, and embrace new opportunities, enabling them to move forward with purpose and resilience.
Charity Focused
At Wild Walk Mentoring, I believe in empowering women, not just in leadership and management, but in life itself. That's why we're committed to giving back. Each year, 10% of our profits will be donated to a local charity that aids women in surviving forms of abuse. The donation will go to a charity in Scotland, where our work primarily took place that year.

Having lived with the devastating impact of a narcissist and convicted paedophile, I know the importance of support, recovery, and resilience. By contributing, I want to support organisations that support women in striving to rebuild their lives, whether in their homes or careers. Together, we can create a future where women lead, thrive and find safety. Thank you for being part of this.
Walking in a Natural Environment
Walking outdoors, whether through a forest, woodland, or park, has profound benefits for mental health and well-being. Immersing yourself in nature provides a sense of calm, helping to reduce stress, improve focus, and boost emotional resilience. The rhythmic movement of walking encourages mental clarity, allowing thoughts to flow freely and solutions to emerge.

Studies show that time in green spaces lowers cortisol levels, ease through a forest, woodland, or park profoundly benefits anxiety, and enhances overall mood, making it a powerful antidote to workplace pressures and leadership challenges. Walking side by side in an open, natural setting removes barriers, fosters honest conversations, and allows leaders to gain fresh perspectives on challenges and opportunities.

Mentoring & Coaching

✨What is Mentoring & Coaching?
Mentoring is a long-term relationship focused on guidance, support, and personal growth. A mentor shares their experience, insights, and advice to help the mentee navigate career challenges, leadership transitions, or confidence-building. It’s often informal and driven by the mentee’s needs.  Coaching is more structured and goal-oriented, focusing on specific skill-building and performance improvement. A coach helps individuals unlock potential through questioning, action plans, and accountability. Coaching is typically short-term and designed to achieve measurable outcomes.
🌿Why Wild Walk Mentoring?
At Wild Walk Mentoring, we offer personalised, transformative mentoring experiences designed to help individuals gain clarity, confidence, and resilience in their leadership journey. Whether through one-to-one sessions or tailored small-group mentoring for up to three people, our approach provides the space to reflect, reset, and move forward with purpose.

Walking in nature offers a unique backdrop for honest conversations, fresh perspectives, and strategic thinking, allowing leaders to break free from workplace pressures and find meaningful solutions to their challenges. If you're looking to step into leadership, navigate career transitions, or strengthen your ability to lead with confidence, Wild Walk Mentoring provides the support you need in a way that feels refreshing, empowering, and impactful.

What Our Clients Say

As a new salon owner in my late 20s, I thought my years in the industry would prepare me for everything. I’ve worked in the industry since leaving school, but taking over the salon and managing a team of 3 stylists and 1 junior member of staff has been a whole new challenge. Add to that juggling my roles as a wife and mom, and there were days when I felt completely overwhelmed, struggling to balance all aspects of my life.

I had seen Pippa's posts on my local towns billboard, and was hesitant to get in touch but then with a little husband encouragement decided to send her a message and now I am so glad I did.

After 3 mentoring and reflection sessions, I’ve gained clarity on my role as a manager of my new business venture. I now feel confident setting goals for my team, and building trust through conversation. I’ve learned how to delegate effectively and nurture my staffs' creative talents.

I’ll admit that stepping into ownership of my salon came with moments of imposter syndrome, but Pippa helped me identify my strengths. We talked about making clear decisions for both the team and the business which had been floating around in my head for a while.

Finding my balance in work and life, I think the mentoring process has helped me.  I’ve learned how to balance authority with being approachable, creating a positive work culture while still maintaining boundaries. At the same time, I feel more 'present' as they say, with my family, by knowing how to manage my time better.

During all of this, there was a surprising angle that I wasn't aware of. Pippa herself has a background in the industry from many years ago. That made her guidance even more relatable and inspiring. She truly understands the challenges we face and offers insights that feel grounded in real experience along with the bonus of walking in beautiful surroundings which were on my doorstep and I never know!

Thanks again Pippa.

I’ve never had a conversation like it with anyone before, and I’ve had millions as you can imagine hahaha - but this one was different on so many levels.

Starting a new role as a team leader has been both exciting and a bit overwhelming for me, so I decided to join Pippa's Wild Walk Mentoring for some guidance. Pippa made me feel completely at ease. Her warm and welcoming approach instantly settled my nerves, and I felt like I was in a safe space to share my challenges and thoughts.

The hour-long mentoring session, paired with an easy walk in Dunkeld, was a breath of fresh air - literally and figuratively! On our walk, I was lucky enough to spot a red squirrel, which was such an unexpected and joyful moment. It’s little experiences like this that make the sessions feel so unique and uplifting. Pippa has a natural way of listening and offering insightful suggestions without ever making me feel judged or rushed.

She’s incredibly supportive and creates an environment where I feel encouraged to reflect and grow. I’m genuinely excited to see how the next 5 week sessions will continue to help me develop my confidence and leadership skills. I couldn’t recommend Wild Walk Mentoring more highly - it’s already been such a positive and rewarding experience!

Today, I had a refreshing and invigorating experience with Pippa from Wild Walk Mentoring. As a Team Leader managing a team of five in a large business, I often find myself buried in daily pressures. After seeing Pippa's posts, I realised I needed a fresh perspective, a chance to step away from the usual routine and reconnect with my thoughts and goals. We had spoken about which type of walk to do as I was looking for no more than an hour. The walk was a little challenging, and I must admit, Pippa had described the walk as intermediate which did leave me a bit out of breath! But it turned out to be exactly what I needed.

There’s something truly magical about walking and talking outdoors. Listening to the chirping birds, breathing in the fresh air, and enjoying the expansive views created a calming backdrop that made our conversation both uplifting and insightful. Pippa was an exceptional listener. She encouraged me to open up about my current situation and helped me explore ways to overcome challenges and seize new opportunities. The session wasn’t just a break from the norm, it was a catalyst for renewed energy and clarity in my leadership journey. I’m incredibly grateful for this experience.

It reminded me of the value of stepping outside, both literally and figuratively, to gain a clearer perspective on my work and personal challenges. For any leaders or managers looking for a little inspiration and a lot of clarity, I highly recommend giving Wild Walk Mentoring a try!
